May 1, 10:29am: Good Day Stumble Denizens,
Yesterday I finished a milestone on my thesis project. I completed a ultrasonic preamplifier board with a low-noise preamp (1st stage) and variable gain amplifier (2nd stage). This board will be used to evaluate various signal processing algorithms which are intended for deployment in an Electronic Travel Aide to be used by the Blind. I will demonstrate the basic operation of this system to my advisor today, and determine what the next step towards graduation will be.
After completing the board I gave myself some time off, went for a run, had a beer and a burger with my friend Elise, watched the sharks game, sang some Karaoke then finished off the evening watching 12 Monkeys with Nate and Annie.
